Line Editing

Line editing focuses on flow, sense, style, and structure, and can dramatically and fundamentally improve a manuscript. It is essentially deep copyediting: a deep dive into what’s happening at the sentence level.

We ask questions that get at the heart of your writing. What would happen if you added a transition? If you cut this explanation? If you scrutinized these adverbs? Is this description working as hard as it could? Is this sentence intentionally vague? Did you mean to use this word dozens of times?

Line editors ask the hard questions that make room for magic.
